Ripley Castle Engagement Shoot – Harrogate Wedding Photography
The weather was finally on our side this Saturday afternoon for Sam and James’ Ripley Castle engagement shoot. We don’t like rearranging shoots, but this winter was not kind to us at all and on a few occasions we had to pencil in a back up date in the calendar with our couples.
Unpredictable is what this year so far was about, so we were very happy to see a nice mild afternoon in Ripley with snowdrops poking through the chilly ground.
The gardens and the park around Ripley Castle are very pretty even on a winter afternoon, when the trees are still bare. Visiting later in the day gave us more space and we could wander around undisturbed like it was only the four of us on the grounds. When we realised the time and the fact that we might get locked in the gardens, we headed for the exit and drove to a different location outside Harrogate for the ultimate sunset shot, that most couples long for.
Sam and James’ wedding is only a few weeks away and it was such a fun shoot catching up with them and talking through all the details of their big day at the Lake District. Their venue is a gorgeous Laura Ashley Hotel on Lake Windermere and we cannot wait to visit stunning Cumbria again.
