Yorkshire Moors Engagement Shoot – Jo&Ed

Yorkshire Moors Engagement Shoot – Harrogate Wedding Photographers

We had not met Jo and Ed before this Yorkshire Moors engagement shoot, but that certain kind of connection was there from the moment we got out of our cars on this windy and cold spring afternoon.

Those huge smiles on their faces told us they were going to be a fun couple to shoot with. Oh and they definitely were. They didn’t care about how silly each pose or kiss or cuddle was, they enjoyed being together and being themselves. If they had something in mind, we let them do it. The epic Dirty Dancing lift on top of the Ilkley Moor cliff was the most random and hilarious moment of any shoot we’ve ever done.

They told us, that having us making them feel fully relaxed let them forget what we were actually doing and the whole shoot felt like a little hike and a laugh with good friends and a dog. Over two hours had flown by and we ended up having dinner together at The Cow And Calf, discussing bridesmaids dresses, music options for their big day and they invited us to their pre wedding night, which we loved the idea of and found very kind of them to include us in their wedding on such measures.  We hope we’re about to make very good friends with them both, as like I always say, when you click with somebody you should cherish the friendship.

Recently on our holiday Jonny and I tried to get some photos taken of us in some stunning locations and I have to admit, I found it almost impossible to feel comfortable. Me. The one who people think loves the camera. I hated it. It might have only been the issue of not being in control of the other side of the lens…I don’t know. Well, I did get used to it after a few snaps and we did get some good shots, but I must say I do love being the one who captures those silly moments and poses. We put our couples at ease with our attitude throughout the whole shoot, the job becomes a pleasure and the atmosphere comes across in the images. You can feel the intimacy between Jo and Ed and hear their laughter going through their photos.

We feel their wedding will be such a blast at Doddington Hall, no matter the weather or any other unimportant circumstance. Lincolnshire, we hope you’ve got your moody skies ready for some brilliant shots in a few weeks time.
