Browsholme Hall Wedding – Kirstie&Alistair
Browsholme Hall Wedding Photography
The day of Kirstie and Alistair’s Browsholme Hall wedding day arrived. We are always excited to shoot weddings at venues we haven’t had the chance to work at before. We did a little research on Browsholme Hall and Tithe Barn and we liked it a lot. With spending Kirstie and Alistair’s whole wedding day there, we truly fell in love with the place.
After the morning preparations and a cheeky glass of whisky with the boys, Alistair headed to the hall. Passing Kirstie’s cottage he made sure he didn’t see his bride-to-be who was literally hiding inside. Arriving at the venue I was in awe. Browsholme Hall, built in the 16th century, offers a traditional elegance. Kirstie and Alistair chose its drawing room to be their venue for their intimate ceremony. The colours, the paintings and the furnishing were stunning. Alistair’s classic Scottish outfit matched everything so well. I felt like we were in a scene of Downton Abbey. After the ceremony, we took the newly weds for a stroll around the gardens and by the lake. A wedding day flies by too fast and to truly appreciate every little detail, every important moment the bride and groom need to take a little time away from it all to be fully able to enjoy each other’s company. Two or three short private shoots are perfect for this.

The afternoon celebrations carried on in Tithe Barn just a minute walk from the hall itself. The 17th-century barn was restored recently and with its exposed stone and oak beams, the features resembled the inside of a Scottish castle. It all worked so well. The traditional Scottish kilts, candle lit tables and the dimmed light made the barn feel very intimate although the place is huge.
After some hilarious stories at the speeches, The Deadbeats once again kicked off a superb party. It seems like most of our Northern weddings we have the pleasure to work with this Lancashire based band. We love that their enthusiasm is contagious and they have almost everyone on the dancefloor all night. The party was in full swing when we made our way home.
